Act I / Scene 1
1- Reactions
In this first scene, Bernardo, and Marcellus, believe that a there is a ghost, Horatio, doesn't agree with them. Hoario states,
"Tush, Tush, 'twill not appear." (29),
he is proven wrong, right away, it also scares him the most,
"Most like; it horrors me with fear and wonder" (44).
Find this funny, and somewhat ironic, that he is the one that doesn' believe in the ghost, then he is theone who is most scared of it. The reaction to the gohst was almost predictable, but i enjoyed it. While Horatio was getting upset over the ghost, Marcellus and Bernardo were acting very calm, unlike Horatio.
2 - Significance of a Scene
The Significance of this scene, is the discussion between the King, and Hamlet, is very important, it reveals how they feel about eachother, and the entire situation, that they are currently in.
If this scene wasnt in the paly, the audience would lose so much information about how the King feels about the queen, and Hamlet, and now being th king. The King also talks about Hamlets father, and how they shouldn't mourn him, which leads Hamlet into his first silioquy.
3 - Summerizaton
The first scene starts by Fransisco coming to releive Baranardo of the watchmen duties, after Fransisco leaves, Horatio, and Marcellus are introduced. The ghost, that Horatio dos not belive in, appears, and scares him, none of the men, really know what to do. They try to talk Horatio into talking to it, but he can't really get the nerves too. The ghost eventually walks away, for a second time. The noticed that the ghost looked like Hamlets father, The old King. Horatio then says a small speech about how he was wrong about the ghost.
Act I / Scene 2
1- Quotations
"My father's brother; but no more like my father" (150) Hamlet is the one who says this line, I like it because it really explains that situation, Gertrude, Hamlets mother, is now married to Claudious, Hamlets Unlce, it hows that even though they are brothers, Old Hamlet, and Claudious, they are not alike at all, and no one will be able to replace Hamlets father. "If it assume my noble father's person, I'll speak to it, thought hell itslef should gape" (233/234) I like this quotation because they tlak about Hamlets father ghost, and even hamlet doesn't believe it, just like Horatio, I like this line because its funny, and ironic.
2 - Question for Mr. Hindley
Act I / Scene 2 line 190 -194 Horatio keep referring to Hamlets father as the King, or his Lord. Now, couldnt that be taken offensive by Hamlet, Gertrude or Claudious. Shouldnt Horatio state thatits a ghost first, instead of just stating that he saw his father the last 2 nights?
3 - Reactions
"My Lord, I think i saw him yesternight," When Horatio says this I would be lead to think that Hamlet would not Believe this, but he actually takes it in, and starts believing Horatio, which is very unpredictable, especially because out of everyone who thinks the King would be gone, Hamlet would be last to belive that he is still alive. Hamlet says, "For God's love, let me hear" (195), which is a very calm answer to what Horatio says.
Act I / Scene 3
1 - Actor playing an Actor
Im acting as Hamlet:
I know more then anyone thinks. I talk to my father, I meet with his spirit, it may be crazy, but I know its him, I know he's telling the truth. The new king is a dishonest slob, who thinks no one knows his secrets, but I do. I'm not sure how I will get back at him, I'll find a way, I'll guilt trip him until he confesses. Sometimes I jsut want to confront him, but that could ruin everything. My mother is also being ridiculous, I can't talk to her about anything. And then there is this whole Ophelia thing, I'm not sure if I can trust her, her father has alot of power, I'm not sure what im going to do, or when. It will come to me though, I promise.
2 - Hamlets Wording
On lines 219 -223 the way Hamlet talks to Horatio about the ghost of Hamlets father is very well written. Its good because he doesn't let Horatio truley see how Hamlet is reacting to a ghost of his father. Hamlet says "Did you not speak to it?" This line proves how calm he is about it all. Somethign that not alot of people could do, he does.
3 - Significance
This scene is important because of what is said between Horatio and Hamlet, they discuss the ghost of Hamlets father. It eventually leads up to Hamlet wanting to go and meet the ghost and see it for his own eyes. Which is one of the most important parts of this story.
Act 1 / Scene 4
1 - Significance
This is one of the most suspenseful scenes in the story because Hamlets rusn away with the Ghost, but as an audience we don't know what the ghost is capable of, whether its a good spirit, or a demon. He leaves Horatio and Marcellus, and runs into the forst with the ghost, Marcellus and Horatio run after him, bu tlsoe him, they keep yelling, but Hamlet does nt reply, he is too caught up with the ghost.

Im playing Hamlets Father, the ghost:
Hamlet, just listen to me, dont listen to anyone else. I am telling you what happened. you have to avenge me. My brother Claudious, is a traitor, you have to do something for me, please. I promise I am telling you the truth.
Sometime soon, please confront him, or something, yo umust avenge me.
3 - Reaction
When Hamlet ran off into the forest with the ghost, I think was a stupid choice, although in the end, it wasn't it could have turned out so much worse. Sometimes you do have to go with a guy feeling, and it was his father, so as bad of an idea it was, I can see why he did do it.
Act I / Scene 5
1 - Summarize
A very large discussion between Hamlet and the ghost is the main part of this scene, while Horatio and Marcellus are looking for Hamlet, he is talking to his father, learning wht happened when he died. He learns that it was a murder, and the murderer was his Uncle, his fathers brother.
2 - An Actor playign an Actor
I am Marcellus:
Hamlet, where are you? What are you doing? are you sure you should be doign this? Hamlet I am worried for you, can you trsut this spirit? How do you know it wont hurt? All these things are spinning in my head, this coul dgo very wrong, How do you know he is corect? waht if it is a demon, and trying to get you to do something stupid? There is no way to prove this Hamlet, can't you see this?
3 - Relationships
Line 2-4 of scene 5 Hamlets says he will avenge his father. This is when it is revealed to the audience that he is going to do something about the whoel situation. Its still, however, very general.
Act II / Scene 1
1 - Reaction
The thing that got on this scene is the "Two Months Later," I didn't know what to think of it, I wasn't sure what was going to happen. After Hamlet told his father that he would "mark him" he doesn't do anything for 2 months, this instantly told me that something big was happening.

Im playing King Claudious:
No one knows my secrets, but this guilt is building up, I can't stand it. If anyone ever finds out, It will be ruined. I am Fianlly King, I am happy, I just have to keep my secrets safe. Sometimes I feel so guilty, especially when I'm with Hamlet.

This is one of Hamelts palns to see if he can trsuh Ophelia with his secrets, which he cannot. She went straight to ehr father, who is goign stright to the king. It was a very good plan, and i enjoyed reading about it.
Act 2 / Scene 2
1 - Reaction
Hamlets Sililoquy teaches teh audience how discomforted he is. He is really lwo on life right now, and doesn't know what to do. He talsk about how his father died, and how he still mourns for him. In this silioquy, he also thinks he is a coward, "Am I a coward, Who calls me villian", which is basically himself getting upset that he hasn't doen anything fo rhis father after 2 months. He still doesn't know what is going to happen.

"Like a John-a-dreams" (568)
I liek this quote because you dont see this kidn of wording in shakepeares writing very often, and its funny too, meaning, he is dreaming for revenge, but hasn't yet done anything to put that thought into action.
3 - An Actor Playing an Actor
First player:
Why si he telling me to do this? Should this be a suspicious act, Or should I just go with it, I might say something to the Higher King, but he is the loyal son of the past king, Oh my Lord, I do not know what to do. We'll see how this plays out.
Act III / Scene 1
1 - Summarize
Gertrude and Claudious are going to see the play that Hamlet wrote. This is all of Hamlets plan to guilt Claudious out of it. Hamlet sketches out, and starts shouting during the paly, Claudious orders everyoen to leave, and send peopel after hamlet, Hamlet runs, and eventually gets caught.

I have been planning this play for a long time, I hope it works, if it does, It will be amazing. I'm worried it won't work, it will just tbe a big waste of time. I hope Gertrude also feels guilty, she should know about it, she was the one sleepign around this entire time!
3 - Reaction
I wish the Claudious would have reacted differently, I thought for sure he was going to give. Im jsut not sure how that would effect the play. The look he had on his face looked liek he was goign to give any minute. Gertrude had an interesting face too. It also felt bad for Ophelia when Hamlet started sketching out during the play, this whole situation is starting to drive Hamlet nuts.
Act III / Scene 2
1 - Summarization
Scene starts by Hamlet lecturing the players before they go to perform Hamlets show, in front of the King and Queen. As the play goes on Horatio watches the kind closely, to see if theres anythign suspicious, because the point of the play is to get him to be put on a guilt trip. As the show starts, Hamlet keeps making comments to Ophelia, who he is sitting beside during the show. When the king realizes whats going on he rises, sending the audience into chaos, the king heads to his room, and the audience floods out of the theatre. Hamlet is then alone with Horatio, they talk about the Kings face during the show, and agree that it was telling. Hamlet then heads back to the his mothers chamber to talk to her.

I think this is funny because all Hamlet is trying to do is get teh show started, he is excited for his plan. This is the anxiousnes talking, not himself.
3 - Reaction
I found this scene very interesting because you couldn't see anything, I thought that the King would have stayed seating during the entire show, and try to keep his cool, but he didnt, he got up half way through it, nd wlaked out, which obviously caused a scene. So, im not sure whats going to happen next. Its going to get very interesting, Im excited for the relationship that is going to exist between Hamlet and Claudios.
Act III / Scene 3
1 - Summarization
This is the scene where Caludious takes Hamlet as a threat, finally. He knows Hamlet knows what happened. The kind begins to feel guilty and heads to the confession. Hamlet slips into the other side of the room, and has the oppurtunity to kill Claudious, but realizes if he kills the king during his pray, he instantly goes to heaven, and does not want the king going there, so he cannnot kill him.
2 - Reaction
I cannot believe the Hamlet didnt kill Caludious, he had a perfect time to do it, but passed on it. On on perspective I cane see why he didn't but on the other, I can;t see how he could possible put the oppurtunity up. I could not believe it.
3 - Quotes

I think this is a perfect line to go out of this scene with. I think it is awesome, and it rhymes, which puts such an emphasis on it. When Claudios says this, it sends shivers down my back, and I think it send shivers down Hamlets too.
Act III / Scene 4

"Mother, you have my father much offended" (10)
This is one of the most ridiculous parts of this story. Hamlet says this in defense, his mother believes that Hamlet has offended his father, when obviosuly his mother is in the wrong. I think this is ridiculous because his mother thinsk Hamlet is offending old Hamlet. I can't believe this line.

I can't believe the discussion between Hamlet and his mother about offending his mother. I find it so ridiculous that Hamlets mother is trying to pull a fast one on hamlet. She is either very dumb, or doesnt realize Hamlet knows what happened. It has to be one of the two.
Either or, I still fid his mother ridiculous for being in the situation that she is in.

Does Hamlet know? How did he find out? I have to keep it cool, don't feel guilty, its better this way, anyway. Hamlet is jsut crazy, I am his mother, I will set him straight. But what if he does know, It will ruin everything, everyone will find out. This could be ery bad for the royal family. All I want to be is Queen. Why did I ever get involved in this, How did this happen?
